The Canora Credit Union Board had a mandate for their new building:

  • The building had to express timeless style, portraying a sense of permanence.
  • The shape and features of the building needed to enhance and reflect high quality services and delivery.

The north, east, and west faces were clad in random ashlar Tyndall stone. Accent bands were created using smooth faced Tyndall stone panels. The south face (adjacent back lane) incorporated split face concrete block complete with accent colour band to compliment the smooth Tyndall accent banding.

The flexibility of masonry products is demonstrated through its installation on the curved faceted front facade. The upper undulation parapet adjacent the front entrance curves vertically and horizontally.

Tyndall stone was incorporated in the main ATM/vestibule and the banking hall. Smooth Circular Tyndall stone was used to clad the interior columns. Split faced Tyndall stone was installed to create a unique feature wall behind the reception counter.
